The Cuny Center is coordinating with the Crisis Response Development Foundation and the Naivasha Community Project to respond to recent humanitarian needs in Kenya. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced since fighting broke out after Kenya's presidential elections in December.
The NCP is supporting displaced families in need of relief and care. The current infrastructure and the limited resources cannot cope with the immediate demand. The situation is volatile and families are being rescued and taken to "safety camps" while awaiting onward transfer to
established displacement camps. These "safety camps" are temporary locations that do not have basic facilities but are protected by government security personnel. NCP is providing much needed items and assistance to displaced persons in the camps.
